What we Teach
At Pathway Martial Arts, we combine the striking power of Karate, the dynamic throws of Judo, and the ground control of Jiu-Jitsu to create a well-rounded martial arts system. Each style complements the others, giving students a complete foundation in stand-up, takedowns, and grappling. Whether you're training for self-defense, fitness, or personal growth, our integrated approach helps you build real skill from the ground up.
What to Expect at Pathway Martial Arts
At Pathway Martial Arts, we meet students where they’re at. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to training after a break, you’ll find a welcoming environment that’s structured, supportive, and fun. We don’t expect kids (or adults!) to show up with the discipline of a soldier on day one—but we also don’t allow chaos. Our goal is to build focus, confidence, and discipline over time through engaging games, partner drills, and meaningful solo practice.
Led by Sensei Ramon—whose passion for martial arts is matched only by his dramatic teaching style—classes are full of energy, learning, and laughter. Students leave feeling challenged, accomplished, and excited to come back.
Meet Sensei Ramon
Sensei Ramon started training in the martial arts when he was 13. He studied traditional Okinawan Karate. After receiving his 1st Dan (black belt) at 17. A few years later after he earned his 3rd Dan (sensei level) under Shihan Robert Hansen he started to take interest in other martial arts. Soon after he started to learn Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under the tutelage of Sensei Jose and would occasionally study judo under Senpai Bill. Though Sensei Ramon is no longer affiliated with Shihan Hansen or Sensei Jose he continued practicing and studying in the hopes of creating a mixed martial arts curriculum based on the traditional arts of karate, judo, and jiu-jitsu.
Today Sensei Ramon is the owner and head instructor of Pathway Martial Arts Academy and he has put together a modern mixed martial arts school that integrates the three traditional martial arts under one curriculum. When he isn't busy teaching he is working on perfecting the art of teaching and class structure in order to give the best learning experience for his students. He continually learns and trains in order to be the best instructor he can be for his academy.
